In order to further outdoor activities, which are core to Scouting’s mission, the BSA has four High-Adventure Bases: Northern Tier (Minnesota, Manitoba, and Ontario), Philmont Scout Ranch (New Mexico), Sea Base (Florida), and Summit Bechtel Reserve (West Virginia).

Each year Troop 31 attends a High Adventure Camp in addition to the BSA Summer Camp.  The High Adventure Rotation is approved by PLC and Troop Committee.  Here is a list of where we have gone and where we plan to go.

2014:  Camp Sabbatis A high adventure camp located in the Adirondack Region of New York.

2015:  Northern Tier Hiking and canoeing in Northern Canada.

2016:  Sea Base  A relaxing  sailing or camping trip in the Florida Keys.

2017:  Philmont An exciting and rigorous backpacking trip in New Mexico.
National Jamboree This event is held only every four years and is a gathering of thousands of Boyscouts.

2018: Northern Tier Northern Tier- An exhilarating and intense canoeing trip in Canada.
World Jamboree   This event is held only every four years and you can participate in exciting activities and meet scouts from all across the world.

2019: Sea Base A relaxing  sailing or camping trip in the Florida Keys.

2020: Summit Bechtel Reserve a sampling West Virginia’s finest outdoor activities

2021: Philmont An exciting and rigorous backpacking trip in New Mexico.

2022: Algonquin a canoe trip in the wilds of Canada

2023: Sea Base A relaxing  sailing or camping trip in the Florida Keys.
