What’s Coming Up?

In the coming months, our troop plans to participate in a variety of activities! Here’s what to look forward to.

Backpacker Lite, May 30-31

On this campout, Scouts will get the chance to experience the thrill of backpacking at a small scale. Our troop will spend two nights backcountry camping and backpacking through Central PA to gain experience for future backpacking trips. Expect lots of opportunities for trail cooking, hiking, and experiencing nature!

Summer Camp, July 12-18

Each year, our troop spends a week at a dedicated Scouting summer camp. Last year, we attended Camp Tuscarora for their “Game On” camp; this year, Seven Mountains, our local Scout ranch, will host our and other troops. Scouts will have the opportunity to work on various merit badges in the company of other troops on the extensive grounds of the ranch, including a lake, campgrounds, and an archery range.

Algonquin High Adventure, June 22 – July 1

Our high adventure this year, though not at one of Scouting America’s High Adventure bases, will be taking place in Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada. The attending Scouts will get to spend a week canoeing and portaging through the scenic lakes of Southern Canada, hiking and camping on the lake shores, and (hopefully) seeing a few moose! Scouts must be Star rank or higher to attend.
