In 1910, Scouting America was established, bringing a long legacy of Scouting in Europe to the United States for the first time. Our troop was chartered just four years later, as the oldest troop in the State College area. Since then, Troop 31 has provided over 110 years of service to our youth, sponsors, community, and country, producing more than 240 Eagle Scouts in the process.
Our Mission
Scouting America was incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916. The purpose is to serve our nation’s youth by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Scouting America aims to prepare young people for lives of impact and purpose. We welcome, at every level of our movement, youth and families who wish to live such a life of impact and purpose, guided by the Scout Oath and Law.
